When to use it: Right before an interview, pitch, or any moment where your heart is going faster than you’d like. Bathroom stall, parking lot, the 60 seconds before you walk in.
Why it’s here: This is the fastest way to drop your physiological stress level. It’s not magic, it’s the way your lungs are wired. Your body uses this exact pattern naturally when you’ve been crying — it’s how it resets.
Do this:
- Breathe in through your nose.
- At the top, sneak in a second small inhale through the nose.
- Long, slow exhale out through the mouth. Make it longer than feels natural.
- Repeat 1–3 times.
You should feel a small drop almost immediately. If you don’t, do one more round and lengthen the exhale.
